IIM-A campus to become more environment friendly
AHMEDABAD: Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A) is set to become more environment-friendly by cutting down on water and power Consumption and also recycling water and waste within the campus.

"Last year we began a project for water conservation but were not able to complete it. This academic year we plan to complete it. Our focus will be on recycling of water and waste in the campus," IIM-A Director Sameer Baruah told mediapersons during an interactive session at the institute.

"From this year we intend to reduce the net water consumption and power consumption within the campus, thereby making it more environment-friendly," Baruah said.

"This year, we also plan to plant more trees in our new campus as it is less greener compared to the old one," he added.

With regard to the new batch on IIM-A, Baruah said that there has been a significant increase in the number of girl students in the new batch of Post-Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM) compared to previous year.
