New Tirupur water supply project a boon to industries
Coimbatore, June 18 Industries in and around Coimbatore, which are facing acute water shortage, have been extended a lifeline by the New Tirupur Area Development Corporation Ltd (NTADCL). It has offered to share the surplus water available with it with the industries here.

The companies, which agree to bear the cost of the project, would be able to recover their investment by way of discount in water charges levied by NTADCL.

Speaking at a recent seminar here organised by NTADCL along with TWAD Board , Mr K. Phanindra Reddy, Managing Director, NTADCL, said the industries could jointly invest in the capital required to lay the pipeline and construct the pump house and other facilities for conveying the currently available surplus water at Tirupur to Coimbatore. (The NTADCL’s Tirupur project sources water from river Cauvery near Erode).
